New Character Practice

Character Practice - Progress 01

I started a new character practice today using the Illustration created by Chris G. Robinson. I really want to nail the Blizzard art style, and why not do that by creating an ORC! I will be posting my progress on my various blogs and forum threads. All critiques are welcome!

Stylized Squirrel Progress

Continued to work on my stylized squirrel character. I have completed the low poly base, completed the UVs, and have started to work on the Alpha hair for the character.

Practice Illustration

I have decided to start to test out a new painting method using the Airbrush in combination with other brushes in Photoshop. I want to improve the overall quality of my illustrations, so I have been giving myself 1 hour each session to see how far I could get, to improve. Here are some JPEGs of the process.

Painting Practice

This is a practice piece I did really quick after watching Eric Chiangs' Digital Tutors Creative Series. I know there is a lot of work to be done to improve my painting skills, I just thought I would share this Wizard of Oz Scarecrow concept before I hit the hay.... no pun intended.

C2E2 - Zbrush Work

Here is the Zbrush sculpt that I was working on at C2E2 on Saturday. I have been working on a story for my own version of The Wizard of Oz, and this is my bust for the Scarecrow character. This is just a progress shot, he is still in concept and is far from complete. Stay tuned!
